Why families are choosing Georgetown & Salado

Georgetown has become one of the fastest-growing cities in America — and it's easy to see why. A charming historic square, top-rated Georgetown ISD schools, significant lot availability, and a location that puts you on I-35 with easy access to Austin, Round Rock, and the tech corridor make it one of Central Texas' most compelling places to build.

Salado, just 15 minutes north on I-35, offers an even more boutique experience — a small artisan community with a creek running through it, beloved by people who want the Hill Country feel with highway convenience. It's one of the most underrated places to build in Texas.

What I love about building here

Georgetown in detail

Georgetown is one of the markets I know best for Build On Your Lot. The city has seen tremendous growth, and infill lots in established neighborhoods as well as larger lots on the outskirts both present strong opportunities for David Weekley builds.

The city's utility infrastructure is well-developed, which keeps site costs more predictable than rural areas. Williamson County has streamlined its permitting process significantly in recent years, making the build timeline more reliable.

Salado in detail

Salado is a hidden gem. It sits along Salado Creek with a walkable village center full of galleries, restaurants, and shops — yet it maintains a quiet, unhurried pace. Lots here tend to be generous, with many properties offering creek frontage or views of the surrounding Hill Country terrain.

Bell County permitting applies in Salado, and I'm familiar with the local regulations. Septic is common outside the village center, and I evaluate all site considerations upfront so there are no cost surprises.

David Weekley in North Austin

David Weekley Homes has a strong presence in the Georgetown market and is well-known to local builders, inspectors, and utility providers here. Their one and two-story plans work well on the lot sizes common in this area, and the Design Center selections are perfectly suited to the aesthetic buyers in this market are looking for.
